Founding Full-Stack Engineer

Empathy Talent is building an AI-first software platform designed to enable non-technical users to build and deploy full-stack web applications. As Engineer #1, you’ll work directly with the founders to build the product from the ground up, taking ownership across the entire stack and improving the product’s AI capabilities and user experience. Responsibilities: Talk directly with users to deeply understand their needs and improve the product’s AI capabilities and user experience (expect ~10–20% of your time in support or customer conversations); Ship full-stack features end-to-end; Build foundational platform components such as:; Authentication; Core application infrastructure; Improve the AI runtime to better handle edge cases and increase system reliability; Perform prompt engineering and run evaluations to improve AI output quality; Build scalable, production-grade infrastructure capable of supporting millions of applications Qualifications: 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience; Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js; Proven track record of shipping production features end-to-end; High ownership mindset — you take features from idea to production; Ability to move quickly while maintaining quality and strong engineering practices; Strong product instincts and attention to UX and detail; Comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment; U.S. citizen or valid U.S. work visa required Required Skills: Full-stack engineering, React, TypeScript, Node.js, AI systems, Prompt engineering, Production-grade infrastructure, Product instincts, Ownership mindset
