Backend Developer

AppCard, Inc. is a technology and marketing company headquartered in Manhattan, NY. They are seeking a Backend Developer to join their NYC-based team, responsible for developing and enhancing their platform to deliver exceptional value to users and clients. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions in collaboration with your engineering peers; Participate in design and architecture reviews; Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve high-level systemic issues across platforms; Collaborate cross-functionally with customer success, support, and business teams to deliver on company goals; Bring in new technologies and frameworks as you see fit Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing high-performance distributed systems; Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals; Expert in Python, with a strong ability to select and integrate optimal tools and technologies; Experienced in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS); Required experience with relational databases (e.g., PG); Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing efficient tools, processes, and methodologies to address challenges and enhance efficiency; Ability to lead projects from inception to delivery, demonstrating capacity to work autonomously and produce solutions that meet or exceed project expectations; An unwavering belief in the importance of documentation, recognizing that clear, comprehensive documentation is as crucial as the code itself; Direct engagement with your team and partners to develop and deploy secure, industry-standard code that's robust and ready for production; Championing a culture of quality in every aspect of the development process, ensuring that the products we deliver are of the highest standard; Advocating for clean code practices, ensuring that our codebase remains manageable and efficient; Facilitating clear and effective communication across various teams and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all project phases Required Skills: Distributed systems, Computer science fundamentals, Python, Cloud platforms, AWS, Relational databases, PostgreSQL, Java, Independence
