Seattle Kraken is building a championship organization that serves fans and community through world-class sports and entertainment. The Developer will be part of the Hockey Operations Research & Development team, responsible for building and maintaining internal systems used by scouts, coaches, and front office staff.
Responsibilities:
Building tools that help hockey operations staff make better decisions, faster; Understanding what the user is trying to answer, not just what the ticket says; Choosing simple, reliable solutions over clever ones; Owning outcomes from problem through delivery, including incorporating user feedback; Noticing reliability or usability issues early and addressing them proactively; Shipping iteratively and learning from how the tools are actually used; Eagerness to learn the domain, grow as a developer, and be open to mentorship
Qualifications:
6+ months of prior professional development experience; Ability to independently ship production frontend code in React and pragmatic TypeScript; Good judgment around data-heavy UI: tables, filters, workflows, state management, and loading/error handling; Ability to take loosely defined requirements and deliver a practical first version; Comfort working directly with non-technical users and translating their feedback into product decisions; Clear written communication and the ability to work with high autonomy
