Full Stack Engineer with Node.js

The Planet Group has partnered with a Colorado based company to locate a Full-stack Software Engineer for a full-time position. The successful candidate will design and scale a modern, API-driven platform powering web and mobile applications, focusing primarily on backend architecture and system design while also contributing to frontend work when needed. Responsibilities: Design, build, and own scalable APIs using Node.js and TypeScript; Develop backend services using frameworks like Express or NestJS; Design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability; Participate in architecture discussions and system design reviews; Collaborate with mobile and frontend engineers to deliver reliable, API-driven experiences; Contribute to frontend development using React when needed (secondary focus); Deploy and operate services in AWS, ensuring reliability and performance; Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and system design; Work closely with a distributed team across time zones Qualifications: Senior-level experience building backend systems and APIs; Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; Experience designing and scaling API-driven architectures; Hands-on experience with Express or NestJS; Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases; Experience operating production systems in AWS environments; Ability to contribute to system design and architectural decisions; Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; Comfortable working in a remote-first, collaborative environment; Clear communication and ability to work independently Required Skills: Node.js, TypeScript, API design, Backend architecture, Express, NestJS, SQL, Relational databases, AWS, System design, Debugging, Troubleshooting, Independent work
