Lead Field Engineer - Drives

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business focuses on advanced energy solutions for utilities and industries. The Lead Field Service Engineer is responsible for installation, service, and commissioning of drive systems and provides technical support to ensure customer satisfaction and project success. Responsibilities: Perform installation and commissioning on drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction; Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions; Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of our equipment; Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, as well as execute customer training; Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction; Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades; Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service; Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business; Provide support to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects; Complete timely service reports and other administrative Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university; OR Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 additional years of related industry experience; OR High School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience; Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice Required Skills: Electrical Engineering, Drive Systems, Power Systems, Automation Systems, Dynamic Positioning Systems, Installation, Commissioning, Troubleshooting, Customer Service, MS Office, Project Management
