Senior React Native Engineer (Mobile Product Focus)

Oowlish is a rapidly expanding software development company in Latin America, seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to join their high-impact product team. The role involves building and scaling mobile applications while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality user experiences. Responsibilities: Build and scale mobile applications using React Native; Own features from concept → development → production; Optimize performance, responsiveness, and user experience; Collaborate with product and design on user-facing features; Work across APIs, integrations, and backend services when needed; Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality; Leverage modern tools (including AI) to improve development efficiency Qualifications: 5+ years of software engineering experience; Strong experience with React Native in production; Proven experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and/or Android); Deep understanding of mobile performance, animations, and UX; Experience working with APIs and backend integrations; Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of features; Based in Chicago, or open to frequent travel for in-person collaboration Required Skills: React Native, Mobile app development, APIs, Backend integrations, Mobile performance optimization, Ownership mindset
