Senior Software Engineer - Bloomberg Finance & CFO

Bloomberg is a global leader in financial data and analytics, and they are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Finance Development team. The role involves collaborating with business users to create and enhance custom applications that support Bloomberg's Finance community, focusing on web-based applications and system integrations. Responsibilities: Create and enhance custom applications which eliminate inefficiencies or provide brilliant solutions to seemingly intractable problems; Build and maintain web/desktop applications, Office Add-Ins, and back-end system automation tools; Interact with numerous existing systems and their supporting teams to utilize Bloomberg infrastructure and tools resulting in bespoke solutions to solve complex business problems Qualifications: 4+ years experience programming and systems design utilizing object-oriented languages (e.g. C#, JAVA); A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field of study or equivalent work experience; Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle; Experience creating and working with web and Windows services; Experience with relational databases design (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL); Understanding of fundamental networking concepts (e.g. firewall, proxy traversal) Required Skills: Object-oriented programming, C#, Java, Software development lifecycle, Web services, Windows services, Relational database design, SQL, PostgreSQL, Networking concepts, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Python, User communication
