Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, GAI Search Platform - Moveworks

ServiceNow is a global market leader in AI-enhanced technology, empowering organizations to work smarter and faster. They are seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to improve their search-based question answering systems by utilizing traditional machine learning and generative AI technologies, while also providing technical direction and coaching to their engineering team. Responsibilities: Improve search-based question answering systems utilizing both traditional machine learning and cutting-edge generative AI technologies; Provide technical direction and thoughtful coaching to the team of search and machine-learning engineers; Work closely with ranking, product, design, infrastructure, and data science teams to drive agentic search products to the next generation of capabilities; Architect powerful, elegant abstractions to enable ranking and product teams to contribute safely and easily to the codebase; Develop algorithm frameworks to support diverse conversational search applications such as multi-turn multi-hop question answering systems; Drive the development of the search platform with new LLM-enabled generative AI features in a fast-paced environment; Develop systematic evaluation metrics and methodology for search models, leveraging LLMs to address unique challenges in the enterprise; Help build a high-performing team with an inclusive and positive team culture; Iterate on interview processes and close candidates to help grow the team; Coach and mentor engineers at different levels to achieve their career goals Qualifications: 5+ years of engineering with 2+ years of experience as a senior engineer (technical lead) leading a team of software engineers; Passionate about helping product and ranking teams move faster and scale their solutions better in an environment where everyone cares deeply about customer impact and success; First-hand experience relevant to search platforms such as traditional information retrieval, search ranking and relevance, recommendation systems, or question answering systems; Background in text processing, information retrieval, natural language understanding, or machine learning Required Skills: Machine learning, Information retrieval, Search ranking, Recommendation systems, Question answering systems, Natural language understanding, Text processing, Large language models, Retrieval augmented generation, Python, Golang, Coaching
