Software Engineer – Distributed Systems (Real-Time Trading Platforms)

Intellibus designs and engineers platforms trusted by established FinTech and financial trading firms. They are seeking a Staff Engineer to design, build, and own full-stack systems powering financial platforms, with responsibilities spanning frontend architecture to backend services and distributed event-driven infrastructure. Responsibilities: Information Technology & Services; H1B Sponsor Likely Qualifications: Experience designing and operating event-driven distributed systems that process high-volume real-time data; Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and time complexity, applied to build systems; Experience building full-stack platforms using React/Next.js and Node.js/NestJS that run reliably in production; Hands-on experience with message queues, streaming platforms, and asynchronous workflows — Kafka, Azure Service Bus, BullMQ, or similar; Ability to reason clearly about system trade-offs: latency vs. throughput, consistency vs. availability, speed vs. reliability; Experience operating systems in cloud environments like Microsoft Azure, including debugging production incidents and improving performance under pressure; Ability to design systems end-to-end and take ownership of architecture and production outcomes; Experience mentoring other engineers and contributing to architecture reviews, engineering standards, and technical decision-making; Strong communication skills under pressure, able to explain technical decisions to a non-technical audience Required Skills: Distributed systems, Event-driven architecture, Real-time data processing, Algorithms, Data structures, Frontend development with React, Frontend development with Next.js, TypeScript, Backend development with Node.js, Backend development with NestJS, REST APIs, Microservices, Message queues, Streaming platforms, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Microsoft Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, SQL, NoSQL, TypeORM, Technical decision-making
