Software Engineer II - Manifest Delivery

The Walt Disney Company is a global leader in media and entertainment, and they are seeking a Software Engineer II for their Manifest Delivery team. The role involves building and maintaining high scale Golang backend APIs for video playback across Disney’s streaming applications, ensuring a robust and reliable service for users. Responsibilities: Build and maintain high scale Golang backend APIs to power DASH and HLS VOD and live dynamic ad insertion playback across Disney’s streaming applications; Develop infrastructure and deploy maintain highly available distributed systems via AWS with tooling like Spinnaker and Kubernetes; Write design documents for new systems, contribute to team pull requests and documentation and actively participate in team agile ceremonies Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of software development experience preferably with Golang; Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, high-uptime systems in a cloud native environment - preferably AWS cloud; Experience designing and building backend APIs; Strong understanding of OO design patterns and concepts; Experience with maintaining large code bases with version control, testing flows and monitoring tools; Excellent communication, collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent industry experience Required Skills: Golang, AWS, Backend API design, Distributed systems, OO design patterns, Proactive problem-solving, Collaboration skills
