Software Engineer II - Mobile Android

The Walt Disney Company is reimagining ways to create magical viewing experiences and transforming its media business for the future. The Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative features and enhancements for ABC News' digital products. Responsibilities: Development of feature-rich native Android and AndroidTV applications; Identify areas for growth within the team processes and develop new systems for collaboration; Write clear, well-tested, performant code; Work with other developers to create sustainable, well-architected solutions that are built to last; Manage production issues and solve novel problems; Support peers through code review and pair programming; Create opportunities to learn and improve the codebase Qualifications: 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience; Deep understanding of Android app architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.) and design principles; Experience integrating with backend systems, web services, and third-party software; Hold high standards of quality for both the codebases you contribute to and the applications you build; A growth mindset towards learning and a desire to give and receive feedback; Experience composing and presenting thoughtful and implementable solutions to a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical); Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Required Skills: Android app architecture patterns, MVVM, MVI, Backend systems integration, Web services integration, Third-party software integration, Software engineering, Code quality standards, Code review, Pair programming, Growth mindset
